i like to take supplements, to help with my body absorb nutrients i might not otherwise get from my diet.the label on the bottle was very direct and clear to read, no surprises.the capsules were a little bit on the large side, but i had no problem swallowing them.and they didn't upset my stomach, a definite plus.so i'm very happy with these!!

One of my favorite things about 2nd Springs Wellness Magnesium Complex is that only 2 normal size capsules satisfies 95% of your RDA. This is uncommon among magnesium’s. Usually 2 pills is closer to 30-40%. It’s always nice being able to take less pills and getting a higher potency. I also love that these magnesium capsules are made and distributed in the USA. That always brings me peace of mind about what I’m putting into my body. The one thing that gives me the tiniest pause is that they don’t specify how much of the blend is magnesium oxide. Magnesium oxide is not the most bioavailable form. From research I’ve done it appears that the amount of magnesium oxide is quite small in this supplement, which is reassuring as I mainly take it for the magnesium bisglycinate chelate portion. Overall I’m completely satisfied with this brand of magnesium and notice less muscle cramps and a happier nervous system on it.

Certifications on the bottle indicate that the product is produced in the United States (albeit, using globally-sourced ingredients) in a facility that is FDA-inspected and GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) certified.All that said, there are no certifications on the bottle verifying the purity of the finished product. A certification from NSF or USP would indicate the product has been tested to ensure it contains the ingredients listed on the label in the specified strengths and amounts and doesn't contain harmful levels of contaminants. So I contacted the company's customer support team through their website, and within an hour, they got back to me with the NSF testing results document, which matches the batch number I received, so I'm satisfied that the product is what they say it is.

So when I saw this magnesium bisglycinate complex from 2nd Springs, I decided to give it a try.The bottle arrived safety sealed, which I appreciate. The capsules are 200 mg each, and you take 2 of them to achieve the 400mg dose. The capsules are slightly on the larger side as far as capsules go, but are consistent with the size I was used to, and are easy to swallow. As I've had problems with other magnesium supplements in the past, I especially appreciate that this complex was easy on my stomach and didn't cause any stomach discomfort at all.Since we aren't allowed to make medical claims in reviews, I won't...but I will say that these capsules met my expectations, functionality wise, and I'm happy with how they work. I did take off a star because in spite of them being listed as magnesium bisglycinate, the back label shows that they have magnesium oxide in them as well, which to my understanding doesn't offer the same benefits. It doesn't say what percentage the oxide is vs. the bisglycinate, so I have no way to know. Overall, though, this seems to be a quality supplement and I'm happy with its performance.

You get 120 capsules, each containing 200mg of magnesium in the form of an unspecified mixture of magnesium bisglycinate and magnesium oxide (you have to take 2 to get the advertised 400mg). Unfortunately, magnesium oxide is almost useless as a supplement (it's included because it's much cheaper), and there's no indication on the label as to what percentage is bisglycinate and what percentage is the oxide.So, I popped open a capsule and weighed the contents, and got 1.26 grams. 200mg of magnesium in the form of magnesium bisglycinate weighs 1.41 grams. With a little bit of math, you can work out that at least 15% of the magnesium must be magnesium oxide. The vast majority of the powder did dissolve in water, and magnesium oxide doesn't, so that percentage seems plausible.So this appears to be a reasonable magnesium supplement, I just wish they would skip the useless oxide or at least be transparent about how much of it they're putting in.

Works much better than my Naturemade ones, which are magnesium oxide

I use magnesium for sleep support and while it's not a miracle worker, it does help. Unfortunately this product didn't work for me. I was sleeping through the night with my previous magnesium brand, but I consistently wake up at about 2 or 3 AM with this product and have a difficult time going back to sleep. I'm not sure why this magnesium works so differently than others I've tried, but I've since gone back to my previous magnesium brand and my sleep is a bit more consistent now. I'm not saying this is a bad product by any means, it just didn't work for my body chemistry.

It surprises that people review supplements, touting their efficacy or berating the lack thereof, as if there were some objective result that you could look at and say I took these pills or capsules or whatever and now I'm 10 inches taller or I have a full head of hair when last week I was bald. I don’t do that. The key really is the word itself - “supplement.” These are not medication or magic beans, not this supplement nor any other. So, I try them and I hope that maybe they’ll help, hope they won’t make things worse, but I’m never sure if this is the cause of anything, good or bad, when it is such a small part of the equation, which also, for me and everyone, includes other supplements, meds, when, what, how you eat, sleep, stress, exercise, even weather and interpersonal relationships and myriad other things.Some things I like and things I don't like:👍Few if any unnecessary ingredients👎plastic bottle👍taken as directed, lasts two months at a competitive price

High quality magnesium supplement that is ok for my stomach. The pills are medium-sized and easy to swallow. I don't like the fact that I need to take 2 in order to get the full dosage, but this gives me control over when to take them. The value is decent but not great for the quantity.
